Dream Bigger Dreams, Take Bigger Risks, Believe In The Impossible
I have been practicing One Word for several years. Following the loss of my Father, I began to live my life with a profound sense of destiny. I experienced a shift. I recognized that my mess was my message. Today I wake up in the morning filled with passion, I practice gratitude from the moment my eyes open, and I strive to pursue all of my hopes and dreams. I made a conscious commitment to myself to not allow doubt, frustration and fear be obstacles that hinder me from my destiny. I want to live my life that allows for my passions and my gifts to be a platform to inspire those around me.
My life has not been a picture perfect album of passion, gratitude and knocking out my 5, 10, 15, 20, or even my 30 year goals. I have battled and conquered feelings of abandonment, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, and severe depression. It took accepting the cards that I had been dealt, and learning to create and focus on the positive vision of my hand. An important part of my journey (Week 5 Blog) is parting ways with negative environments and people. A single seed of negativity can take root in an instant, and it grows like a cancer. Investing our time with negativity can impact both mental and physical health and wellness.
The first step in discovering and/or living your word is to look at the path before you. Your word is your North Star, it stands bright in the distance, pulling you forward. It encourages you and guides you as you move toward it. Your clear vision will equip you to navigate both around and through any obstacle that appears.
Tonight I am writing in my journal with the following questions:
1. What is the future that you want to create?
2. What does this look like?
3. What are you doing?
4. What are you doing it with?
You do not have to wait until the New Year to set out in a new direction in life, start today. If you screw up next Tuesday, acknowledge your relapse and start again. You have control over the change in course that you wish to make in your life. Take charge and discover your word!
